NFL goes pink and produces unique collectibles up for bids
Summary If you watched any of the action from Week 4 of the 2009 NFL season, you may have thought something was wrong with the color on your television. No color issues, just the NFL gearing up to support the American Cancer Society during Breat Cancer Awareness month. Football fans can help the cause and add to their memorabilia collections at the NFL's official auction site www.nflauctions.nfl.com. All month long, the league will be taking bids on the apparel, coins and other pink items used in games, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the ACS. Among the first wave of items were Gatorade towels signed by New Orleans Saints stars Reggie Bush and Marques Colston and a pink panel football autographed by Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson. Game-worn gear from Week 4 games, like the gloves worn by D.J. Williams and the gloves and shoes worn by Jabar Gaffney when the Broncos defeated the Cowboys, are just some of the lots closing on October 12. |
